The next Blow Row?
Nearly a month ago I published a Thai blowjob bar bulletin necessitated by events. That report mentioned the closure of two blowjob bars in Bangkok and the opening of a few new suck shops in Pattaya. In the time that has passed more news has developed. I was also able to gain more information that I present to you here.
There have been no public pronouncements as to why Lolita’s and Kasalong in Bangkok were closed to begin with but that is par for the course in the regional adult industry. Keeping things is a sort of legal limbo seems to be the way it goes and that is probably by design. Places that operate openly for years are suddenly closed by authorities only to be reopened again soon after with little or no explanation or reporting. Deals and agreements are made behind close doors and that is about as far as regulation goes.
When the two bars first closed various rumors of the reasoning behind it all floated around the grapevine. Some said the closures were due to the exaggerated student style uniforms the women at both places wore. Others said it was because eighteen and nineteen year old women were found working. Since some other blowjob bars are openly advertising nineteen year old staff members in school style uniforms this all seems unlikely but there’s no real way to tell. Workers were more open than managers but stories still conflicted to the point that all the sordid details and dealings will probably never be fully revealed.
While Lolita’s has a provocative name there is a good chance the original proprietors had no real idea of the connection to the infamous book of the same name. The staff there like most blowjob bars in the country tends to be on the older side of the adult industry demographic. One reader tells me a friend of his even refers to the place as “Oldita’s.”
In any event both bars have now fully reopened and the women are once again stationed out in the street in their sexy short plaid skirts and matching shirts. It seems whoever needed to be pleased has been taken care of so things are back to normal at least for now.
After a bit of investigation I have found out that the two shuttered bars were not the only establishments visited in the capital city. It seems that several others including Som’s Haven and even the notoriously nasty Star of Light in Patpong received visits from some people with power though they were apparently found to be in alright shape and allowed to continue operating.
Notably Star of Light has since tightened up their procedures a bit with women pushing customers looking for service into the private bathroom couches rather than going for more open action. They also seem to be stationing someone at the door to give advanced warning of any surprise visitors. This all does look to be related.
Suck shops on Sukhumvit Soi 7/1 may have dodged a bullet. It doesn’t appear that the two blowjob bars on that street have run into any problems at all though the staff at Dr. BJ’s has been much reduced since the glory days just a year or two back. The place still gets the most publicity of any blowjob bar in the world. The misnamed video below recently appeared on Youtube. Although it is in Italian it clearly shows what Dr BJ’s Salon is like including a mostly unenthusiastic staff. The lovely lady known at the bar as “U” appears in the middle looking as good as she ever has and actually smiling a little unlike the other gals seen on screen.
In Pattaya things are a little sunnier in spite of recent heavy rains and several raids over the last year or so.
The previously mentioned 007 Club and the even newer Pirates Club next door in Pattaya are both up and running strong. Reviews of both places are forthcoming with a write up on 007 Club set to be published in a little over a week. With three bars of the same type right next to each other in the middle of nowhere a new sort of under the radar entertainment area has developed that a lot of local guys seem to be relishing in.
Another similar area has grown up around the massage parlors, bars and restaurants of Soi Lengkee and one of its offshoots. Reviews of several of those establishments are also in the works.
The blowjob bars on Soi 6 continue to operate as normal and the refurbished Pump Station on Beach Road Soi 13/2 is as lively as it has been in many years.
Pickle polishing pubs seem to be as popular as ever in the city by the bay. One sure sign of this is the new signage at Club 4. Like the new uniforms at Bliss Lounge reported a few weeks back this reinvestment by the management must mean that business is doing well.
