In the past I have been intrigued enough to research some large massage centers in the city. At times t has turned out that some large and elaborate massage parlors really did offer nothing more than innocent body rubs. But that is not always the case.

Sky Massage is one place where at least some employees seem to be keyed in to the fact that a lot of foreigner visitors like their massages to wind up with a happy ending. So they organize things in a way that makes that more likely to occur.

Sky Massage and Sauna

Sky Massage and Sauna is located on Street 310. It takes up a rather large building. The place is clearly marked though the entrance through the door on the right side can at times be obscured when the parking area is filled with large vehicles. A local guy working the door and parking lot helps customers into the place.

Through the door there is a very basic lobby with wooden chairs along both walls. A large and jovial female manager and her assistant work the front desk. There the prices for services are clearly marked in English. An oil massage is $7 USD. Access to a steam room and pools costs $3. A basic massage is available along with that for $3.

Customers looking for a more sensual massage would tend towards the oil massage. The people who work the place probably know or at least sense that. I can’t be totally sure but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out. The Nana Entertainment Plaza on Sukhumvit Soi 4 in Bangkok is one of the most famous adult entertainment centers on earth. On the top floor of the NEP complex there are two large go go bars. One is Billboard. The other is Butterflies. Besides being two of the largest go go bars in Nana Plaza and the city as a whole they are also regarded by many as being two of the best.

Sure Butterflies is located inside of Nana Plaza. But it is on the top floor. So anyone who wants to enter the place has to walk past numerous bars and hundreds of scantly clad women.

The main draw at Butterflies is without a doubt the women. I do think that the overall level of attractiveness of the dancers at Butterflies has declined a little over the years that the bar has been in business. But Butterflies still has a better looking and more fit staff than many other agogos in Nana Plaza. Of course things can change with staffing in these bars from one day to the next. And ultimately beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

And attractive women are not the be all and end all of go go bars as strange as that may seem. The popularity of a bar also reflects the overall vibe inside. Well run places with fair prices that treat customers well get the most repeat visits. That only makes sense. Reputation and word of mouth also has a lot to do with the type of trade a go go bar does. These days word spreads fast thanks to the internet. Even new guys and temporary tourists tend can make decisions based on what they’ve seen and heard. Fewer people simply wander into places they don’t know about now even if does still happen. Tokyo Barber shop is a relatively high priced barbershop in Phnom Penh. Behind a small storefront on a side street there is a shop staffed by a number of men and women. Everything from haircuts to shampooing, manicures, pedicures and full body oil massages are available inside.

Haircuts are done by younger local guys in uniform. There are also many local women on staff. They wear a tight skirt and shirt combo that is somewhat similar to the kits over at the Khmer Angkor Barbershop. Most of the women are quite attractive and friendly. They’re also good at their jobs. There are also one or two women who are on the larger side. Especially by local standards. Those seem to be the only gals who do body massages.

The main focus here is the massage parlor. As stated one source that claims expertise across Asia has reported that this place does happy endings. I have no idea what this is based on. Seonosong-dong was once a large and thriving red light district in the Korean city of Jeonju. Chiang Mai certainly isn’t renowned for its adult nightlife. The city has its agogos though they hardly compare with what can be found in other cities. There is no equivalent of Pattaya’s Windmill or anything even remotely like it in Chiang Mai. But there are some bars where women dance on stage and regularly leave with customers. Occasionally those dancers leave with women and couples. But that seems to be pretty rare.

In go go bars women are paid to dance and entertain. Anything else that happens outside of the bar is between the gals and their customers. There are often ladies working the bars who are okay with taking on women and couples. But it ultimately comes down to the situation. One of the better looking women who dances at Foxy Lady tells me she has gone with a couple once but rejected several others. She did not provide a clear explanation of why she accepted one pair but passed on the others. There were probably many factors involved in her choices.

I have also seen plenty of women inside Spotlight Bar in Chiang Mai over the years. The old location along the moat seemed to draw in more female tourists. But the first time I visited the new location I saw two Asian women enjoying themselves over the seats behind the stage.

Freelancers and sideliners

There are quite a few freelance and sideline prostitutes in Chiang Mai. Some are part timers or university students who sell sex on the side. Others rely on the sex trade for their entire income. The majority of the freelancers in Chiang Mai mainly work with Thai customers. Though there are some who focus on foreigners and others who cross back and forth as the market dictates.

In an interview on this website one such freelancer tells the tale of a time she was hired by a couple. Apparently it is not that uncommon. Though at least one member of the couples typically speaks Thai. It would be different otherwise since the sideliner websites are all in the Thai language. Still it is not impossible. I have been told of couples and even single women finding freelancers through various online portals like LINE.

Some of the erotic massage shops in Chiang Mai seem most open to entertaining female clients and couples. One example is Absolute Paradise which warmly welcomes women and couples. In fact it seems to be a normal thing there as the staff and management are familiar with couples and already have pricing in place for such sessions. They do recommend that women contact them in advance to book a session though. This is probably to make sure there are enough gal friendly service providers on staff.

Two more sensual massage parlors in Chiang Mai that welcome couples and solo women are Little Mermaid and a place called Dolphin Massage located inside the old Your Hostel building on Sridonchai Soi 2 near the southeast corner of the moat. At Little Mermaid women are charged the same rate as men. Couples are charged double the normal single rate and treated by two women. Dolphin is notable in that it also employs men who can provide yoni massage to ladies. A couple’s massage provided by two women at Dolphin costs 3000 Baht ($95 USD). The same massage provided by one man and one woman costs 3500 Baht ($105 USD).

Other massage parlors

At some other body rub places in Chiang Mai there are certain women on staff who will work with women or couples. But it appears to be a special service that requires at least an inquiry in advance. I have been told that some of the ladies working at Anime Kawaii will work with women or couples. But couples must take two providers and go into separate rooms. I haven’t researched every other massage parlor in the city. But I imagine many similar shops would be the same.

At least some of the soapy massage parlors in Chiang Mai seem up for accepting female customers and couples too. But it sometimes requires a bit of conversation to get over any initial confusion. I am aware of some cases of couples visiting soapy massage parlors and receiving service. They simply explained what they wanted to the floor managers and paid twice the normal rate. I also know of at least one foreign woman who has been serviced at a major soapy massage parlor in town. Though at first the staff apparently thought she accidentally wandered into the wrong place.

That concludes this overview of places offering sensual services to women and couples in Chiang Mai. This is not a conclusive list. So there may be more places that willingly throw open their doors to ladies and life mates alike. In fact I would almost bet on it. If I am able to do further research into this issue in the future I will update this post with my findings. For now this should serve as a good look into what non-traditional erotic options are available in Chiang Mai.

For seven years I have release annual lists of porn that is still worth paying for. But what about all the adult content out there that is not worth your hard earned money? Although some big producers have blamed piracy and tube sites for the supposed decline of the porn industry there is another fact at play. Oriental Lounge Eve is a well apoointed group dating club in Tokyo. It is a very interesting place that goes to show just how extensive the adult entertainment industry in Japan can be. I don’t imagine there is much difference elsewhere but I can’t be totally sure. At times there can be huge variation among places with the same owners and even names. For example one of the two Kirari Dating Cafes in Ikebukuro happily excepts foreigners while the other does not.

Oriental Lounge Eve Shinjuku is located in the Furin Kaikan building on the Kuyakusho-dori. It is accessed through an elevator on the street level. The place gets so popular that they usually station some staff downstairs to help control the flow of people. The Oriental Lounge Eve Shinjuku website also has a bar on top that shows how many men and women are inside at the moment.

Inside the place is quite large for a Japanese establishment. It is set up like a lounge with various seating arrangements. There are plenty of restaurant style tables. There are also more intimate private areas and even a long traditional bar. At busy times all of the seats can fill up. So customers wait either at the bar or in another very large waiting room with rows of seats and some basic refreshments.

The entire thing is orchestrated by a large staff made up Japanese men and women in formal dress. They are more than willing to welcome in foreign customers though I don’t know how well they would fair with people who don’t speak at least some Japanese. Even for native speakers the system can seem a little confusing.

System, services, and summary

Although the lounge functions like a large bar and restaurant the place is meant for men and women to meet. It is possible for singles to enter but most people come in groups of at least two. There is a permanent ladies night sort of formula at play. So women can eat and drink at very little expense. Men however pay a premium to be introduced to the women inside.

Guys are seated and women are brought over to sit with them. There are 30 minute rotations and customers do have some discretion over who they want to spend time with. No one is forced to sit with anyone. And things can also be extended. Once a match is made the groups gets to ordering food and drinks. It’s not a cheap place by any means with normal drinks going for 3750 Yen ($34 USD) each. But it is hardly the most expensive place in Tokyo.

As a restaurant the place functions. The food is quite delicious and varied. But the service is limited by the sheer demand placed on the servers. Things take longer than you might expect. Some may even think things are delayed purposely to increase income. I don’t know if that is the case but 30 minutes can go fast when you’re sharing drinks with two Japanese beauties in their twenties. Many of the gals inside fit that description.

The women don’t receive any compensation for their time directly from customers. I am sure quite a few show up for free food and drinks. So it’s not totally different from other bars and clubs in some parts of the world. Some ladies surely exchange information with guys they like. I have also seen women leave the club with men. Oriental Lounge makes introductions and the rest is up to the people involved. It is an intriguing model. Two stars.

Since the COVID-19 Pandemic began there have been several major changes in the commercial sex industry around the world. From a near total shutdown some places have begun an attempt to rebuild while a select few never even closed at all. Still there have been some very real transformations.

All around the world the same song

Adult entertainment has been severely curtailed in almost all of the world. Sex shops have either been shuttered or seriously restricted for a period that is now approaching half a year. People are of course still exchanging sex services for money. But it in many cases it looks different than it did in the past.

Even in countries where the sex industry remains more or less open there seem to be less customers and money moving around. In countries like Cambodia the massage parlors, hostess bars and even karaoke clubs remain open as a whole. Yet several individual places have shut down for lack of customers. Other have cut staff or hours.

In Japan guys can still hire sex services though their options may be slightly more limited. For foreigners that is undoubtedly the case especially since the only two foreign oriented soaplands in the country shut their doors a while back.

The commercial sex industry in South Korea has always had a well deserved reputation for xenophobia. Non-Korean customers have long been banned from most sex shops and refused service at red light districts. Nowadays things are even more difficult for foreign guys looking to pay for play. Even some places that once welcomed foreigners have turned their backs on guys who are not Korean.

Over in Thailand

In Thailand things have followed a somewhat similar course. But rather than local shops closing access to foreigners we see shops usually meant for foreigners opening up to local men. It is a sort of reverse or crossing over from one world to the other. There have long been some shops for foreign customers and some that were mostly meant for Thais. Some Thai oriented shops refuse farang. Many or possibly even most foreign oriented shops refused Thai guys.

A combination of xenophobia and a fear of misunderstanding seems to drive the refusal of service to foreigners at Japanese and Korean sex shops. In the farang oriented shops in Thailand it was often the women themselves who wanted a “foreigners only” policy. Whether or not they wanted to avoid judgement or simply running into someone they might now a lot of the sex workers along roads like Sukhumvit in Bangkok have for many years refused to service Thai customers. Things are slowly changing now.

Adult shops that were once solely oriented to foreigners are now openly beckoning Thai customers inside. Thai blowjob bars in particular have long been off limits to Thai guys. Now I have word that the high end 7 Heaven on Sukhumvit Soi 33 in Bangkok is welcoming in Thai customers. Perhaps they made the decision after the nearby Tokyo Jogakuen suck shop shut its doors.

Big changes in Bangkok sex shops

Several erotic massage parlors in Bangkok that have always been meant for foreign customers now accept Thai customers. Many are running advertisements in the Thai language to solicit new visitors. Thai guys with money to spend must be delighted to know they now have full access to the professional nuru massages offered at Doki Doki. That’s on top of the higher end SNCTM nuru massage shop that employs some Doki Doki standouts like the famous Pam.

Other Bangkok establishments that are welcoming in Thai customers these days include Kokoro Massage and the well appointed Daisy Dream massage shop on Soi 33. As far as I know however most if not all foreign oriented go go bars would still restrict entry to Thai men with the old “member’s only” policy.

Rather than attempt to adjust to the new reality some other sex shops have simply shutdown. That even includes some very well known places that have been around for decades like the Devil’s Den on LK Metro in Pattaya. I’ve also been told that the famous Eden Club in Bangkok has shut its doors though similar news has spread in the past only to be later revised. Serenity A Go-Go on Soi Buakhao in Pattaya isn’t nearly as historic but it too went out of business suddenly in mid-September 2020.

Despite the hopes of many, there doesn’t appear to be any major opening of international travel in the works. So it seems very likely that more and more places in Thailand and other parts of the world will either have to make adjustments or simply shut down shop and move on. Of course millions of sex workers will continue to ply their trade in order to earn money. And millions of punters will continue to pay them. But when the smoke clears things will very likely look a lot different than they did prior to the year 2020.

While the two may serve different niches I imagine there could be significant crossover between customers. SNCTM matches the high level of service at Doki Doki plus a little bit more.

Service providers

The women who work at SNCTM are all fit and attractive gals in their twenties or perhaps very early thirties. There are no exceptions that I have seen. Of course beauty is ultimately in the eye of the beholder. Different guys like different things in women. But physically it would be tough for most men to find fault with the ladies working at SNCTM.

That’s a ninety minute session with two ladies that includes bathing, fun in the jacuzzi, nuru massage and full service. As someone once sung, “sweet dreams are made of this”. Who am I to disagree?

Conclusion

SNCTM offers a high end erotic massage in Bangkok with a level of service that is comparable to what one might experience in Japan. That is not to say that this is a Japanese shop. It has its own characteristics that plant it firmly in Thailand. Still it is one of the few shops around where the customer is truly put first.

Because of that SNCTM place has quickly become popular with both local and international customers. The fact that a bevy of lovely ladies with great training and skills work the shop surely helps bring people in as well.

I see no reason to disagree with the general sentiments of all the others who hold this shop in high regard. All the praise seems to be well deserved. In fact I don’t really see any flaws with this shop at all. I always find it interesting when people say this site is “about” this or that. Over the years more than a few people have described it as a site about Thailand. While I have written quite a bit about the land of smiles, I have also covered numerous other countries. In fact, I’ve written about dozens of cities spanning four continents.

At other times people have remarked that the site was about things like massage parlors. Or suck shops. Or Japan. Again these are things that have all been covered in detail here. But I don’t think The Pimp has much in common with either the gentlemen’s clubs of Pattaya or the strip clubs with the same title in the United States. The Pimp is more like a high end Thai nightclub where guys can go for intimate entertainment. It’s much more akin to a place like Anaconda Club in Ubon or even Gira Gira Girls in Tokyo than Pirates in Pattaya. Another reason I hesitate to call the place a “gentlemen’s club” is that it is patronized by plenty of women!

It may be more appropriate to say that Acaconda Club is like The Pimp since the latter is the preeminent venue of its kind in Thailand. The Pimp is not the only club of its kind but it is widely recognized as being the best and most popular. That’s been the case since the place opened a decade back. I can confirm that its reputation is well deserved.

All about The Pimp

The Pimp is located on Pracha Uthit Road around the Mangjai section of Bangkok. It is about a twenty minute taxi ride from Nana Plaza. Though there is more than just physical space between the two. This is a different kind of place entirely. The Pimp is clearly oriented to local Thai guys and Asian visitors. Though everyone seems to be welcome. It is common to see at least a couple of farang in the know inside The Pimp.

The Pimp is a member’s club. You should know that it is not necessarily a cheap place. A night at The Pimp can cost some money. But frankly it’s nothing like what a guy might spend at a high end nightclub in some other parts of the world like New York City. And since this club comes staffed with an array of attractive women it clearly offers more value. An entire night at The Pimp from 10:00 pm to the 3:00 am closing time can even cost less than a night of hopping the go go bars. The Pimp also has live bands, erotic shows, attentive service, surprisingly good food, and the option to use a private room.

What goes on inside

This is not a go go bar or a brothel. The many women at The Pimp are there to entertain and keep guys company. They do a very good job at that. While they don’t get up and do a bored two step shuffle around a pole they work the room and look great doing it. The ladies of course sit down with guys and have fun. The women all speak Thai. English isn’t as common as the place is more oriented to locals and Asian guys. Some ladies can speak it though it may all be a moot point in the days of Google translate.

The party rooms can get really wild. The women quickly go topless when they enter and take on a real “anything goes” attitude. The party rooms have all sorts of amenities that would be difficult or impossible to find in a normal nightclub. The party rooms have top of the line sound and entertainment systems. On top of that, they have stages, shower show pool tables, and private toilets. They also include a DJ which makes these the ultimate party areas where a group of people can have a great time. Some of the rooms even have private suites where guys can have the ultimate good time with the ladies.

Sexy staff

There are hundreds of women working at The Pimp. And I mean that literally. You can see some of these beauties in the gallery on The Pimp website. The fact they walk around in some of the sexiest outfits imaginable only amplifies the fantasy element of it all. As you may imagine, a bunch of busty twenty-year-old Thai women in lingerie creates quite an amazing environment.

Despite being hot and dressed in skimpy outfits the women couldn’t be friendlier. Sure that is a part of the job. So is dancing. But a lot of these gals seem to be genuinely interested in having a good time. When a group of guys gets a table they are guarantee fun loving company for the duration.

The women who work the bar in their bikinis and other revealing outfits are entertainers. Their job is to entertain inside the club. So there’s no barfine to take them out of the bar. The Pimp is a “member’s club” but a membership isn’t actually required. Guests are welcome too. A “membership” is really a package of liquor bottles offered at a discounted rate. Membership packages run between 10,000 ($320 USD) and 20,000 Baht. The 20,000 Baht package offers greater value and is popular with people who live in Bangkok. A “Pimp Package” is also available that gives VIP status at the club. A personal mamasan is assigned to Pimp Package members to help them select the best ladies. Pimp Package members can also book rooms and ladies in advance.

Non-members can open a single for a bottle for 4,000 Baht ($128 USD) and that includes free mixers. Buying a bottle gives free entry to up to 4 guys. There is also a “Pimp Ticket” available. This costs 1,000 Baht ($32 USD) and includes 2 free beers. It’s not a bad way for guys who go alone to hang around the bar and check out some of the shows.

Normal tequila shots for the models are 250 Baht ($8 USD) each which is not much more than you might pay at a go go bar in Bangkok. The lady “run drinks” are 300 Baht ($9.60 USD) each. Buying these drinks invites the PR and Bikini gals join the party. Selecting a lady for the RD “run drink” option ensures that she sits with you the entire time rather than running around between customers. The club charges two drinks per her for this.

Summary

The Pimp does run promotions pretty regularly though I must admit that I don’t keep up with it all. One reason is that promotions make the place a lot busier. It’s already a popular place as the hundreds of thousands of followers of The Pimp’s Facebook page would indicate. Another reason is that I wouldn’t go to a place like The Pimp if I was on a budget.

In any event it doesn’t cost the world to visit The Pimp even if it is on the high end. It’s a unique place in the world and a standout in the Bangkok nightlife scene. If I only had the chance to visit one of these clubs in the capital I would definitely head to The Pimp. That’s not only because there are hundreds of firm Thai babes tucked into tight teddies. Though to be honest that is certainly the main reason.

This kind of place might not be for everyone. But since most guys enjoy having a good time while being surrounded by sexy women in negligee I would imagine that it would be right up the alley of many. That would explain how The Pimp has received such high scores across various open review programs. A look at the club’s listings on Google Reviews and Trip Advisor shows what I mean.

You might wonder why I would mention review sites that might seem to give me a run for my money. User reviews can be valuable. But so can the word of an experienced reported who has been around the world and studied adult entertainment in all forms from top to bottom. There are times that I disagree with the popular sentiment as expressed through user reviews. This time I have to go along with the majority. The Pimp is one of the most fun clubs you can find.

Icha Icha is the first genuine nuru nuru massage parlor in Chiang Mai. The shop really sets itself apart from the pack with everything from its clean and well designed interior to its beautiful and well trained staff. With a dozen women working at any given time there is a lot to draw men inside.

Inside the shop is spacious and clean in a way reminiscent of the aforementioned Mitu in Bangkok. Although the two places are not related they do share many similarities. The menu at Icha Icha is clear and straightforward. It is provided by polite staff that aim to please. Icha icha means flirting in Japanese and the staff sure seems to know the meaning.

The private rooms at Icha Icha are specially designed for nuru massage. They have a wet area where showering and the slippery slide take place alongside a dry area with a full comfortable bed. Everything is clean and well kept. It’s a lot like being inside a soapland in Japan except with more room to move around.

Nuru nuru massage

When I published my review of Celebrities regular commenter Deca wrote “Nothing comes close to Japanese soaplands”. Years ago I would agree with that statement wholeheartedly. These days things are different. There are now a few professional nuru massage shops in Thailand that do come close to Japanese soaplands. They include places like Mitu and Doki Doki in Bangkok and Icha Icha in Chiang Mai.

Nuru massage originated in Japan. The name nuru comes from the Japanese onomatopoeia nuru nuru which is meant to indicate something slippery. Authentic nuru gel also comes from Japan where it is made with natural ingredients like seaweed. Real nuru gel is a world above some of the fake stuff sold and used elsewhere. The same goes for nuru massage. A genuine nuru massage is on another level.

At Icha Icha the women are well skilled in the art of nuru. They perform almost identically to their Japanese counterparts though of course they do have their own characteristics. Summary

It is clear that the people behind Icha Icha care about their customers. They’ve brought the Japanese customer is god service style to Thailand. They even require the women on staff to get regular health tests and make the results available to customers who ask to see them.

Japanese soaplands, nuru massage and Thai women are all world renown for good reason. At Icha Icha they combine to create a true oasis. Many guys who enjoy pay for play find the place to be one of the best around. I find no reason to disagree with them.

Thai Massage is a Thai massage parlor located near the Incheon International Airport. It is situated just minutes from what is the biggest airport in South Korea. Although most people who fly in end up in Seoul the actual airport is in Incheon. Thai Massage stands out from the rest of the massage parlors in Unseo for a few reasons. One is as the name suggests. It’s a Thai massage place staffed by Thai women. Another thing is that this place is based around actual massage treatments rather than the extras. That might surprise those who are used to be offered or simply given a happy ending at Thai massage parlors in other countries like Germany or Hungary.

In any event Thai Massage is located right out of Unseo Station. It is the first massage parlor one sees when heading down the street. Since the owners actually have illuminated signs reading “Thai Massage” in English right in the street the shop is difficult to miss. Further down there are other adult oriented places like the previously reviewed King Massage.

Price, staff and summary

Thai Massage is on the fifth floor of a building that houses numerous other businesses. There is a stair case but it is blocked near the top. So Thai Massage can only be accessed by the building’s public lift. Inside the shop there is a desk manned by a very forward Korean manager. She has a menu full of options. Most of it is written in Korean but a standard massage is 50000 Won. Other more expensive services come with traditional services like ear candling that not for the faint of heart or sound of mind.

After paying customers gain access to changing room with big secure lockers and a large wet area. Here there are showers, tubs and sinks that have everything from combs to colognes and razors. There is no time limit on use of the area either.

After showering customers head to one of several large private rooms. They are modest but clean with mattresses on the ground. The four or five Thai women on staff are in their thirties and forties and fit. Most can speak at least some English and Korea. All can of course speak their native Thai. I don’t want to be inappropriate with judgements but suffice to say that these women were hired for their massage skill rather than their looks. They are good at massage and here that is what matters. Because extra services of the erotic type simply do not exist.

Thai Massage is a totally therapeutic massage center. While happy endings are not on the menu the place does have a lot to offer. Everything from the massage itself to the large and well equipped locker room complete with strong flowing hot water, tooth brushes and cologne offers a welcome respite from the hassles of air travel.

For nearly a decade I have reviewed massage parlors all around the world. Some of the places turned out to be what many call “legitimate massage” shops. A few commenters have wondered aloud why I would bother to report on these kinds of places at all. But others understand that I investigate various places in order to find out what is going on inside. Things are not always obvious. If they were a site like this would be pretty boring.
